Intimacy with the Unknown, Christmas 2005

Hi Tameer,

Before I forget just want to write this to you.

As we had been to India, you can imagine how would an India Lady doctor can be and how value it may be. Last month, here in Oakland, one India lady doctor was missing when she finished her clinic practice and tried to attend a medical meeting over the other side in my area in Alameda. Some what Hong Kong and Kowloon, but much closer. Both the lady and her car were missing for more than one month. The day before yesterday, they found her car and body at the other end of the street we are living. The car was driven into a boat ramp at the end of the street and submerged into the sea.

A similar case happened one year ago. Two men were drowned at the same spot in a car. What justice is that a good man or lady deserves, with all the good act in one's life. Just a little mistake of turning a street corner and ended her life.

So I am looking forward to seeing the good side of it and be happy to be on my daily moment. We are much warmer here with 15 to 20 degree C. but raining. It is not much of any Christmas here. Bye
B

Dear B,

They died out of metaphysical and mysterious reasons, I guess --- maybe for the sake of your awakening!

Here may I quote a piece of Light's writings: Thinking is dreaming while awake, dreaming is thinking while asleep.

We all are in a very deep sleep. We can scarcely stand aloof from dreaming while awake and thinking while asleep. We all are in a very very deep sleep, even war cannot disturb it.

It is very kind of you to take others' misfortunes into your own account, and it is a miracle that you happen to see things which even war cannot let you and us see them.

It's a warm strange X'mas, isn't it?

Dear Light,

How are you? I'm learning to hear from your silence.

I'd like to share with you what I've emailed B.

Blessings showering to you from the sky!

Smiling,
Tameer

Hello Tameer,
What a wonderful surprise to hear from you and to get a copy of your response to B. My heart has space for all of it! I was in Shanghai for three weeks in October. There I discovered that I am going back to our homeland to teach/share meditation and to imbibe myself in Chan and Dao. It's a happy discovery. Now we see how destiny unfolds together with intimacy with the unknown.
Meanwhile, to bring you and all the beloveds in Hong Kong holiday cheer and to wish you a blessed, prosperous, healthy and happy new year, I attach for you a painting I did to a poem by Hafiz last September during Creativity Week at the Miiamo Spa of the Enchantment Resort in Sedona , Arizona . The poem goes like this:

“Ever since Happiness heard your name,
It has been running through the streets
Trying to find you.

And several times in the last week,
God Himself has even come to my door—
Asking me for your address!

Once I said,
‘God, I thought you know everything,
Why are you asking me where your lovers live?’

And the Beloved replied,
‘Indeed, Hafiz, I do know Everything—
But it is fun playing dumb once in a while,
And I love intimate chat
And the warmth of your heart’s fire.’

Maybe we should make this poem into a song—
I think it has potential!

How does this refrain sound,
For I know it is a Truth:

Ever since Happiness heard your name,
It has been running through the streets
Trying to find you.
And several times in the last week,
God Himself has come to my door—
So sweetly asking for your address,
Wanting the beautiful warmth of your heart’s fire.”

With very best wishes,
Light
